The Yin and Yang of a Balanced Diet

Your body’s balance is important to good health. Traditional Asian Medicine (TAM) supports this with many examples of a balanced health. Your body has passive elements (yin) and active elements (yang). The balance of both allows body energy (chi) to flow smoothly to all parts of your body. In TAM there is the belief that every food we eat has a particular property.

Each food is either warm (yang), cold (yin) or plain. Warm foods can treat illnesses like colds or spleen problems. Cold foods are very beneficial for disorders associated with heat, like fever or inflammations. Whereas plain foods are generally used to treat both hot and cold problems.

If you eat too much of one particular type of food you are more susceptible to the corresponding disorder. For example too much cold food like mangosteen can make you prone to colds. Too much warm food might make you perceptible to inflammation or pain. You need to ensure you balance your diet and eat a variety of food to balance the yin and yang.

The fruit and herbs in Goyin have been scientifically chosen to provide your body with the correct balance of hot and cold fruits. It is with this balance that you can experience more energy and your body’s ability to heal from within.
